PRE NOTICE OF RACE

The 2008 VAURIEN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP for boats of the class Vaurien will be held in Leça da Palmeira- Matosinhos - Portugal, from 2 August to 9 August 2008.
The Organising Authority will be the Clube Naval de Leça with the collaboration of the ISAF- International Sailing Federation FPV- Federação Portuguesa de Vela, CIV- Comite Internacional Vaurien.
• RULES
• The regatta will be governed by:
• The rules as defined in the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing.
• The prescriptions of the NA that apply will be posted on the official Notice Board
• ELIGIBILITY
• Competitors must comply with the ISAF Regulation 19, Eligibility Code.
• Competitors with Portuguese nationality or with legal residence in Portugal shall also comply with the eligibility prescriptions of the Federação Portuguesa de Vela.
• ADVERTISING
• Participants may display Category C advertising in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20.
• In accordance with ISAF Regulation 20, boats shall display at all times a sticker with the event sponsor advertising provided by the Organising Authority.

7. INTERNATIONAL JURY
An International Jury will be proposed by the Organising Authority and appointed by the Federação Portuguesa de Vela. The decisions of the International Jury shall be final in accordance with Appendix N and RRS 70.4.
8. MEASUREMENT
Boats, sails, rigging and crews must be at the disposal of the Measurers at their respective parking from 9.30 hours on 02 Aug to 12.00 hours on 04 Aug 2008.
• PRIZES
The prizes for this event are described at the Sailing Instructions.
• OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
The official language of the regatta will be English. In case of discrepancy, the original text of the RRS and the Class Rules will prevail. For this Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions text will prevail.
• LIABILITY
All those participating in this regatta do so under their own risk and responsibility.
The Organising Authority or any person or body involved in the organisation of the event rejects any responsibility whatsoever for any losses, damages, injuries or inconveniences that may occur to persons or things, both ashore and afloat, as a consequence of the participation in the races covered by this notice of race.
Attention is drawn to Fundamental Rule 4, Decision to Race, RRS Part 1 which establishes: "The responsibility for a boat's decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone".
